Bo Brown

President

As President and CEO of Brown Real Estate Advisors, Bo Brown is responsible for securing and growing all business lines, recruiting, and creating and managing strategic initiatives for the firm. He currently directs the activities of 11 salespeople and support personnel.

Career Highlights

With more than 40 years of multifamily real estate experience, Brown is consistently recognized as one of the leading multifamily investment specialists in the Southeast. He has closed more than $5 billion in multifamily sales in approximately 500 apartment transactions. During his career, he has represented advisors, developers, investors, lenders, and REITs with their assets.

Much of Brown’s success is derived from his ability to provide his clients with an arsenal of services, from strategic planning and comprehensive financial analysis focused on balance sheet implications to business plan consulting, market and demographic analysis of potential customer bases, and other decisions that can impact the bottom line. This sophisticated approach to business allows him to assist clients in a long-term, strategic consulting role, as opposed to simply selling an asset and negotiating pricing from a one-off transaction perspective.

Brown is a Lifetime Member of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors and is regularly honored by the Million Dollar Club. He is a member of the NMHC and previously served on the NMHC Board of Directors. He is also an active member of the Urban Land Institute, Atlanta Apartment Association, and the Georgia Association of Realtors.

Due to his expertise, Brown is regularly asked to speak about commercial real estate and has been interviewed by such publications as the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Multi-Housing News, and Commercial Property News. Bo has often been recognized by the Atlanta Board of Realtors among the Top 10 producer, as well as Who’s Who in Commercial Real Estate as recognized by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. He is a Phoenix Award recipient presented by the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors.

Walter Miller

Managing Director - Multifamily Investment Sales and Lending

Walter Miller specializes in market rate apartment and student housing properties. He focuses on multifamily sales and has an extensive track record selling retail and land properties. In addition, he leverages his experience in conducting site selection, construction, renovation and alternative uses for his clients’ assets, creating additional revenue stream for their end result. Walter has a strong reputation serving institutional, as well as private investor clients in the sale of investment sales properties throughout the Southeast.

Utilizing cutting edge technology along with extensive market knowledge, Walter provides his clients with comprehensive representation, helping them achieve maximum value in the purchase, sale and disposition of their assets.

Professional Affiliations and Recognitions

Miller is on the Board of Directors of the National Multihousing Council and the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors of which he is a part of that organization’s Million Dollar Club. Jim Jarrell

Senior Managing Director

Jim Jarrell has over 25 years of experience in multifamily sales and asset management throughout the Southeast. As a specialist in multi-family brokerage starting in 1991, he has sold over $1 billion in apartment deals and 20,000 units in Georgia, the Carolinas, Alabama and Tennessee. Transitioning to Asset Management in 2010, Jim was able to apply his experience from the deal making side of the apartment business to the operations side, creating value for investors in apartment transactions. Now back on the investment side, he is focusing again on sales of apartment properties. Prior to joining Greystone Brown, Jim has held senior level positions with the RADCO Companies, Trimont Real Estate Advisors, Cushman and Wakefield and Marcus and Millichap.

Jim is a member of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors and is a Lifetime Member of the organizations Million Dollar Club.

Barden Brown

Managing Director - Multifamily Investment Sales and Lending

A native Atlantan, Barden Brown focuses on both private and non-institutional owners with portfolio and single-property multifamily assets for investment sales and lending. He has experience with a wide array of organizations within the real estate capital markets, including private investors, syndicators, joint-ventures, pension funds (and their advisors), life insurance companies, developers and opportunity funds. Barden uses his broad range of experience to provide comprehensive acquisition and disposition intelligence. He has recently been involved in the analysis and disposition of private client properties in excess of $750 million. Barden began his career in real estate in 2006 and since that time, has developed extensive experience in business development, property analysis, borrower qualification and dispositions of multi-family assets.

In 2007, Barden received the L. Frederick Glass Rookie of the Year Award by the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors. Brown is an active member of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, the Young Council of Realtors, Urban Land Institute, and the Big Brothers-Big Sisters organization. He has been a Guest Lecturer at Kennesaw State University, speaking on various topics related to commercial real estate and finance. He is currently a licensed real estate sales person in the State of Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

Taylor Brown

Multi-family Investment Advisor

Taylor Brown began his career in 2008 with Brown Real Estate Advisors, a well-established multifamily brokerage company in Atlanta, GA. At Brown Real Estate he personally was involved in the sale of over 20,000 units and over $750,000,000 in volume. Taylor joined Greystone Brown in 2016 when Brown Real Estate formed an alliance with the national platform of Greystone. His responsibilities span the entire lifecycle of a multifamily transaction with an emphasis on customer service. Taylor has an in-depth understanding of financial underwriting, past and current market conditions, markets and submarkets located in the Southeast United States, and negotiation and execution of purchase and sale agreements. Taylor’s hands-on approach and candid advice has led to long standing relationships and continued repeat business. He also has access to capital markets as a direct lender to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Freddie SBL, FHA, Bridge, and CMBS loans.

Taylor is an active member of The Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, The Young Council of Realtors, The Atlanta Apartment Association, and the ACBR Million Dollar Club. Cory Caroline Sams

Cory, a native Atlantan, focuses on private owners, both non-institutional and institutional, with non-core portfolio and single-property multifamily assets. She has worked with a wide array of organizations within the real estate capital markets, including private investors, syndicators, REITs, life insurance companies, developers, and opportunity funds.

Cory has worked in the commercial and multifamily real estate industry for more than eight years, focusing on the Atlanta and overall Southeast markets. Before joining the Brown Real Estate team in 2009, Cory worked for the Apartment Group at Cushman & Wakefield for over three years. While with Brown Real Estate Advisors, she has assisted in the sale of over 1,600 units and nearly $85 million in transactional volume. She also has developed extensive experience in property assessment, multifamily asset consultation, financial analysis, and both qualitative and quantitative market research.

Education

Cory graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in International Business and Marketing. She is currently a licensed real estate sales person in the State of Georgia.

Steve Mack

Steve Mack rejoined the firm as Director, Multifamily Investment Sales and Lending in June 2016. Based in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Steve heads Greystone Brown’s multifamily team in Central and Northern Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Eastern Georgia with a focus on investment sales, business development and debt and equity placement.

Steve brings nearly 15 years of multifamily brokerage experience to Greystone Brown. Prior to joining the firm, he was co-founder and Partner of Coastal Apartment Advisors from 2004 to 2016, where he was directly involved with transactions totaling $1.2 billion.

Before forming Coastal Apartment Advisors, he worked with Brown Real Estate Advisors in Atlanta in multifamily sales.
